Business Development Manager - Professional / B2B channel

The Rachio Pro team will be focused on delivering innovative channel / sales solutions to current and new professional partners that driving Rachio growth and ensuring ROI for our partners.

To accomplish our goals within the professional markets, we are looking for an accomplished, high-energy, sales professional to drive sales and channel development. The ideal candidate will have strong experience calling on, and managing a diverse group of customers within a professional vertical. The person must also be comfortable handling multiple customers over a large geography. The right candidate will have a strong background in consultative sales techniques and will be able to build relationships in a short period of time. This role reports to the VP of Sales.


  • Drive sales growth with key professional / b2b customers in a selected geography.
  • Establish and grow customer base around the Rachio Smart Sprinkler solution
  • Work closely with internal product and channel stakeholders to insure effective product and sales messaging.
  • Establish cross-functional relationships with each key customer to allow for strong execution of the sales plan.
  • Establish key relationships with key professional groups within assigned territory to secure Rachio as their “Go to Product” for the category.
  • Establish product introduction / education strategy for customer base.
  • Communicate effectively through data the opportunities and threats to the business.
  • 50% travel

Required Experience

  • 5+ years of documented selling success.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to build meaningful relationships with decision makers.
  • Accomplished success handling large amounts of customer touch points.
  • Success building sales plans that drive NEW products.
  • Experience managing a technical product

Preferred Experience

  • Previous work and/or involvement in a startup.
  • Experience selling consumer products to a professional / b2b market
  • IoT product experience, mobile app, and/or software experience
