Very happy with this choice after researching the various options out there. Also bought the Tempest weather station to utilize hyper local weather data. The system has already skipped water sessions due to wind, freezing temperatures, and rain above the set threshold, exactly as intended!

Easy to set up and track. Rachio sopped a couple of watering cycles automatically because of anticipated rain or the soil being saturated and we have only had it a couple of weeks. Will definitely pay for itself with saved watering expense.

My 25-year old Rainbird controller began last summer to start an extra watering cycle at 11:30 PM all on its own. So on advice of my winterization guy, I made a November (yes this is Michigan) purchase of Rachio 3. I will make the swap in ~April when our tundra thaws.

This controller is smarter than I am! It knows when it has rained, if its too windy too water, or too cold to water. I never have to worry about using more water than necessary.

I love my Rachio controller. I like being able to let the software determine when the watering schedule should be adjusted because of the weather.

Upgraded to the Rachio 3, everything was easy with this item. Worked great the last 2 months and now in hibernation mode till spring. When it wakes up I’m sure it’ll be fine!!!

Had to update because my old Rachio wifi was obsolete. Easy transfer & install, now the wifi is great.

Easy transfer from old Rachio

I had an old Rainbird controller and finally got fed up with the inability to control it with my phone. After much research, I finally decided to go with Rachio, since it seemed to be a disrupter in the space.

Switching of the controllers could not have been easier and the wiring was trivial. Connecting the controller to the WiFI works like other modern devices, such as Nest or Chromecast. After connecting, the zone setup was trivial as I could just walk around the property trying them one by one.

All I want now is a wireless soil moisture detector, but that does not yet seem available.

Great installation support. Did not quite figure out my wiring problem, but eliminated enough variables to allow me to find the issue. Valve monitoring with calibration cycle is a big plus for Gen3.

Rachio Gen3 Upgrade

I added a second controller for a new set of valves in my backyard. It was easier and more cost effective to do, rather than run long wires to the original Rachio controller. Works great! Easy to access both units on one app page. System was super simple to set-up and run. Perfect solution!

Great Controller,
After using now for couple of months it is the best controller I have ever used. Simple to setup and best of all can be controlled by cellphone so you do not have to go outside all the time to make adjustments.
I would definitely recommend this to anyone wanting to upgrade.

I love this controller. I had one installed at my building and it is so easy to use from my phone. I ordered an additional one for my house. The best feature is operating it from my phone. When geese decide to hang out in our yard I just turn on the sprinkler and they are gone.
