Each returned controller undergoes evaluation and hardware testing to ensure it can be returned to the field. Many of these are found to be “open box” and have never been installed.
Once any cosmetic or hardware issues are addressed, each unit gets the latest firmware installed and goes through a final inspection where we test all features and connections.
If the controller passes all tests, it is deemed “Certified Refurbished” and carefully packaged with all necessary components for sale here on rachio.com.
