How It Works

3. Calibrate your zones/valves
4. Your Rachio controller will automatically check each time your system runs
About Valve Monitoring
During calibration, the controller records the normal milliamp (mA) draw for each zone. On every future run it measures live current and compares it to that baseline. A drop below 30 mA flags a dead or disconnected valve, while a spike above 400 mA signals a possible short.
