What sets the Rachio 3 apart from other smart irrigation controllers?

We invest heavily in understanding our customers’ needs and focus on building the best customer experience in the irrigation space. This includes working with other hardware manufacturers to enhance your overall experience. Partnerships with companies like WeatherFlow and K-Rain expand our ability to help you take better care of your yard. And software features like Valve Monitoring give you extra peace of mind. Rachio’s goal is to help you build a smarter yard.

What do you mean by a smarter yard?

There are plenty of companies out there that help you build a Smart Home. Rachio is one of the few that help you expand that Smart Home and connect outside. We uniquely sell smart watering devices and partner products that are integrated and work together to help you care for and enjoy your outdoor spaces.

What is Rachio’s Valve Monitoring feature?

Valve Monitoring is a premium app feature that checks the electrical health of your solenoid valves while your system is running and will alert you if your valve is malfunctioning. A bad valve can result in your lawn and garden not getting water and we want to help customers avoid the loss of plants.

Why are these K-Rain nozzles better than traditional spray heads?

The biggest benefits are better watering coverage and less water misting into the air. Rotary nozzles distribute water in uniform, precise streams with large droplets that are less likely to evaporate compared to traditional spray nozzles. They require different watering times than what you have with spray nozzles and Rachio makes adjusting those runtimes easy. In the Rachio App, you can select K-Rain as your nozzle type and we’ll adjust your watering to match the new flow rate and watering time needed for K-Rain nozzles. Ultimately, this helps your grass stay healthy and you get to use less water.
